Chocolate Frog Legs?

Awww! One of those moments that makes your heart happy as a mom.

Right at this very moment, Ayla and Tayvie are playing school. They're such little best friends! So dang cute!
Me? I am blogging to avoid the kazillion things I should be doing instead.
Time's up I guess, back to work now.
Ayla's asking me if we can make 'chocolate frog legs.' Any ideas on how to do that?
HAPPY RAINY THURSDAY EVERYONE!!!

Nutshellin' Seven Years

I was barely 21, Tony was almost 22.
The day was beautiful and sunny.
We were married at 8:20 am.
In the Salt Lake Temple.
Lake Tahoe for the Honeymoon.
Have vacationed in Yellowstone together that year and every year since.

Lived in a lovely appartment in Kearns for 9 months.
Bought a very nice house in West Valley.
Had three miscarriages, and three successful pregnancies (fingers-crossed).
Two beautiful little girls so far, with another (boy or girl) on the way.

Been Primary Teachers, Sunday School Teachers, Elders Quorem Presidency, Young Women's Secretary, Activities Committee, Young Men's President...and other little things.
Seven jobs for Tony (Eyre Electric, Esteemed Services, DHL Driver, Moog Aircraft, Semitool, Fluid Power Institute, and back to Moog Aircraft)
Three for me (JCPenney Optical, Bud Bailey Construction, Jacobsen Construction) and then the best job of all.
Ten between both of us!
Together we enjoy picnics, walks around the neighborhood, playing with the kids, grocery shopping, working together on projects, talking, dreaming, camping.
We're always up for a car ride.

I am so thankful for the things we have in common, and a little more reluctant to admit that I might be just as thankful for our differences.

Lot's of love, lot's of laughs, lot's of tears happy and sad, lot's of learning done and lot's left to do. Lot's of family times, lot's of trips, lot's of planning, lot's of fun.
Mostly, we just like to be together with each other and our family whatever we are doing.
Would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Just for Tony, I love you... love, your sweetiekins.

Our Great Big Exciting Memorial Day Weekend

Fridays always feel special to me,
and this was the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend
so I packed a picnic and took the girls to a park. Ayla has been wanting to walk over a skywalk, so Saturday we drove specifically to a skywalk and took the girls across it. They loved it.
Such a small thing but it was fun.
(Completely irrational I know, but I got a little afraid once I got to the top, and had to force myself to go across).

Monday. Hangin' with the fam at the Grams.
mmmm. Mom & Dad bought everyone lunch.
Everyone's serious about eating it.
Super cool Daddy making sandcastles.

Then the girls take over.

...
I promised great big exciting, I know, did you miss it?
That was the part where we walked over the skywalk.

Family weekends are always the best!

Bet Ya Didn't Know I Could Keep A Secret!

It was really more about finding the RIGHT time to share more than keeping it a secret.
We told our families the week after Annie & Jakes wedding, and word is starting to spread so I figure now is probably the time!

This was the first ultrasound on April 27th.

It was just a tiny bean with a tiny beating dot!

These are yesterday's ultrasounds.

Unreal how much this little baby has grown in just four weeks! We could see a hand with fingers moving around, feet and legs kicking, it's little chest moving.

So I'm about 12.5 weeks... 3 months!

The baby's due date is December 5th, the doctor says it's December 14th, whomever you want to believe on that one.

We are so excited for this little baby!!!

AYLA

We told Ayla the day before we told our families, she sat and talked to me about it for about 45 minutes. She was so interested! We looked at pictures on the internet of what the baby looks like in my tummy and she couldn't get enough. She immediately INSISTED the baby is a girl and she said she wants to buy her an airplane! You can argue with her all you want but she still INSISTS the baby's a girl, she always says the next one is a brother! The doctor referred to the baby as "it" yesterday and Ayla quickly corrected him by just saying "SHE."

She likes to take care of the baby and me. She tries to share her food with me cause "the baby is hungry." She pretends she can feel the baby kicking. She asks me about the baby all the time and if it's big enough to come out, even though she knows it's not coming until Christmas time. She tells everyone she sees that Mommy's got a baby in her tummy and shares the rest of the information she knows -part of the reason word's spreading :)

TAYVIE

I told Tayvie the day I found out. Ayla was the first to know with Tayvie so I thought it was fun that Tayvie was the first to know with this baby. I've tried to get her to say "baby" but she refusses, so the secret was pretty safe with her! I was worried about her coming to the doctor's office with me yesterday cause she's so full of energy and can't sit still, but I was glad she was there, she watched the doctor do the ultrasound and saw the baby on the screen. When we got home she was very interested in the ultrasound pictures and tickled my tummy and talked to it in her high voice like she does her dollies. So I think she might be catching on. Tayvie has always LOVED babies, so I'm excited to watch her as she starts understanding more.

Family Photos

My friend Kim from Kim Orlandini Photography did these family photos for us. Isn't she amazing? I love them! I can't wait to get a great big family picture to hang in my front room!
It was really fun! Ayla was like a little model and did just as she was told! She loved Kim too, it was cute. Tayvie just wanted to explore, play with the rocks and the sticks, climb on the stairs, see what else was around. She would NOT smile for the life of her! The orchard was so pretty, and behind us there were even some deer!!! Very cool! Very fun! So glad I have these! Thank you Kim!

So much to talk about!

Tony is back at work today!!! He started his job at MOOG Aircraft this morning at eight am. I'm so use to having him home, it's so unreal to think that he's pretty much been home this whole year and we're in the middle of May! It's going to be a big adjustment for the girls and me to get use to him being gone! As nice as it was having him home with us, we've obvioulsy been really stressed and it will be a relief to have a little income! It will be a step towards some big changes in our life.

I am dying to share some family photos that our personal family photographer took of us. They were so fun, and turned out gorgeous just as we had suspected they would! Kim did an amazing job, she was so good with my kids... and with Tony for that matter... and me, I'm probably the worst of all at posing! We love the pictures... I hope it's okay if I share some.

Speaking of pictures, I either need to steal some from Trina or she needs to send me some, so I can tell you about my big surprise weekend! That's how much of a surprise it was I didn't even have my camera!!! :) So relaxxxxing though...

Lot's of stuff.

Just a little spring time rambling

You have to love Spring! It's so nice to be able to get out of the house a little bit, walk around the neighborhood, sit in the backyard, work in the gardens.
...
Tayvie of course is at the age that she's happy as long as she's outside. She sliced a BIG hole in her little tiny finger yesterday, I wrapped it up good and tried to get the bleeding to stop, she was wimpering and so sad so I took her outside and she snapped right back into her happy little self! Easy as that! Her poor little finger though, it's going to take a while to heal.
...
Ayla's excited to watch the flowers bloom. She's excited to show everyone that comes over her "blooming flower!" She loves the dandelions, she's so proud of how many we have cause she thinks they're real flowers. She picks them and tells me to put them in my hair. She also brings them to me and shows me how I'm supposed to crush them in my hand "cause that's what the kangaroo does on Horton Hears A Who." Tony's going to kill the dandelions today. Sad for her. Happy for me. Although I'm sure there will still be plenty.
RIP Dandelions!
