All Aboard! Last Stop Silverton, Colorado

Here's the last installment of our Colorado trip. We took this amazinging train trip from Durango, Colorado to Silverton, Colorado. First we had to take a shuttle for the hour long trip to Durgango from Pagosa Springs. We left early in the morning, and as you know Ayla is not a morning person and this was out of her element anyway so she was really upset about riding on the shuttle. She was really nervous, she had me hold both of her hands and then she fell asleep which lasted most of the shuttle ride. Tayvie did great, we got to hold her on our laps, and she got to nurse whenever she wanted, so she was happy as could be.

Once we got to Durango at the train station Ayla was just as nervous to ride the train. About 20 minutes into it she was fine and had no more worries. This is one of her favorite things to talk about now, how we rode the "doodlebus" (which was the shuttle) and the train.

The train ride was gorgeous, we followed the river up the mountain to Silverton, an old mining town. Along the way there were points, as you can see in the pictures, where we were right next to the mountain on one side and a drop off cliff to the river on the otherside. The ride was about 3 1/2 hours long and when we got to Silverton we had lunch and stopped in a few stores and then took the shuttle back to Pagosa Springs.

So now we're caught up on our Colorado trip. Early tomorrow morning we will leave for Yellowstone!

Treasure Falls

This is still in Colorado, we went on this hike to Treasure Falls. It was beautiful! I love this last picture it reminds me of Elf . The family picture is great too, isn't it? I have since aquired a tripod and Ayla has since taken a nap!

Ayla the Horse Whisperer

The second day that we were in Colorado we actually left Colorado and went to Chama, New Mexico where Tony's Uncle Jesse has a ranch.

This horses name was Custard. Ayz was a little afraid to get on him at first, but after watching her cousins do it she gave it a try. As soon as she got on she started telling me that her "shoesies" needed to be in the stirrups! She was also sayign "Yee Haw!" How does she know these things?

She LOVED feeding the horsies! She would feed one horse for a minute and then go down the fence to the next horse. She had to be fair and feed each of them.

See Tony and I rode horses too! Look at the background in some of these pictures! How would you like waking up to that each morning? What a life! Such a beautiful place!

Pagosa Springs Mini Golf

Nice Defensive play above... and below she lines up the shot... puts... and misses! Oh well nice try!

Sqweeky Clean

Bathtime with the cuz's in Colorado... one of the highlights and most memorable parts of the trip for Ayla.

The Colorado Condo

You can see the kids were happy to be there and be free from their carseats... and especially to be with eachother!
This was our room and you can see the door that went to Julie and kreggs on the left. The bedroom is the closed door on the right.

This was our condo. It was actually a perfect set up for us. We had an ajoining room to Tony's sister Julie and her family. So it was really just like having one really big condo. It was perfect. Ayla would wake up in the morning and head straight for the door to see her cousins! The condo was RIGHT ON THE LAKE. It was absolutely beautiful. The lake was gorgeous all times of the day.

You probably think I'm wierd for always posting pictures of where we stay, but I like to look back and remember where we were and what it was like. I guess I have a fascination with all the different rooms and set ups.
