Tayvie's Special Day

Yesterday we blessed Tayvie Noon. She is such a sweet, sweet little girl. She was so good and so happy all day long. Tony said she just laid their with her eyes wide open looking around while he gave her the blessing. She didn't even make a sound. Tony gave her a beautiful blessing. My favorite thing is that you can tell how much he loves his little girls because he gets so emotional when he blesses them. If you know Tony, you know it is unlike him to be emotional in anyway. He doesn't get upset about anything, he's very mello and even tempered. The only other time I have seen him cry besides blessing his girls was during a Mandy Moore movie :) ... Sorry hun, I just think it's cute, your girls will love reading this when they are older :). Anyway, as I was saying, I love seeing how much love he has for Tayvie and for Ayla and for me. Tayvie looked beautiful, I loved dressing her up 'like a princess' as Ayla would say, but she really is just a beautiful little baby... I could just stare at her for hours.

The Dress

Tayvie's blessing dress
I bought this dress and Ayla's blessing dress when I worked at JCPenney before I had the girls. And this was the reason:It was half off the clearance price and then I got my associates discount of either 15% or 20% off as well. I remember calling my mom and telling her that I would want to make blessing dresses when I had girls, and she said "we wouldn't even be able to buy the material for that price." So I bought both of them along with a couple of the little boy blessing tuxes. I really liked Ayla's dress, it was the perfect style, but this one I wasn't crazy about. I put it on Tayvie last week to see what it really looked and I hated it. <> A big part of the problem was the dress was size 9-12 months (probably why it was clearanced). So I took the whole thing apart. I took the collar off. I took the big poofy lacy sleeves off and remade those with ribbon around the edges instead of the lace, and brought the whole top in to fit better. When it was finished I loved it. I think it's beautiful now (I'll post the pictures above, I'm sure you can see she likes it much better too).

Engagements

My sister Marci is getting married May 3rd. She and Jon asked me to take their engagement pictures. She also wanted several to just use in decorating their house. She really likes the ghetto broken down look, so we found some really cool areas that worked great.

I have to post some of the color ones cause, I'm in love with the vibrant colors! It was a beautiful day!

Easter Dresses

I know what you are thinking:

I saw thosdresses at ***-mart but they were sleeveless!

Okay so I'm sure you weren't thinking that at all- but now you are! So I will tell you my brilliant idea. Tayvie's dress came with the little diapercover/bloomers out of the same white material, so I cut those up and made sleeves for both her and Ayla's dresses. I just used the ruffly part with the elastic already in it and it was so easy! So there ya go if you are ever crazy like me and want to put sleeves on your girls dresses use the little bottoms!
Easter was really fun this year for Ayla. It was even more fun for Tony and me to watch her. It's a big change from last year. I love that she understands stuff this year, that she gets the idea of the Easter Bunny coming to her house and hidding eggs with candy in them, and that she's so independant that she can find a lot of the eggs by herself. She would get so excited when she would spot one!
Obviously Tayvie didn't participate much in Easter this year other than looking ADORABLE!!! Which she did a fabulous job at! I loved dressing my two little girls up in matching dresses! They are both so cute!
