Hangin' In There!

2009 has been very different for our little family! We joke that we've had bad luck this WHOLE year- but really we know it's all for a purpose and things will work out and so far it's only been two months- although it seems much longer!

Cassie has been extremely sick and got to the point that she could no longer walk and she wasn't eating, so we had to have her put down on Saturday. It was very sad for all of us. We all cried. Ayla kept saying "I don't want Cassie to go!" So I explained to her that Cassie was going to go live with Jesus. As Tony was putting Cassie in the car, Ayla was trying to understand how he was going to get Cassie to Heaven, she asked me "Where is Daddy taking Cassie?" and I told her he was taking her to the dog pound and she immediately replied "OH! That's where Jesus is?" We miss Cassie but we know that she was miserable and now she is happy... You know I've heard that all dogs go to Heaven.

My dear wonderful husband is still looking for a job. We apply to several a day by internet, we take out his resume and drop it off (as far away as Springville), make phone calls. But so far nothin'. The problem we are running into is that most places in his field have "hiring freezes" on. So we are praying that those hiring freezes come off soon and that he can actually be considered for a job! Tony is amazingly intelligent in the complicated work in his field, he is super friendly, and a very good, reliable, dependable, energetic, optimistic person. When the right spot for him opens up I have no doubt he'll get it. I love Tony. It has been great having him home. He is so supportive of everything I do and so helpful with everything around here. Ayla and Tayvie have loved having him home as well!!!

So to sum it all up things are good, and they'll get better. We are happy and healthy and we all love eachother so much- as long as we have that everything else will work out. I truely believe that. I know that really sounds so corny but it is really how I feel. Ummm, I don't even want to post this cause it sounds so corny but I think I'm going to cause it's real. Keep your making fun of me to a minimum... oh what do I care? Make fun of me all you want but make sure your comment is just as corny as this post! :)

Jazz vrs. Grizzlies

A couple weeks ago I was having a pretty down day, we were pulling out of our driveway and we stopped to grab the mail. In amoungst the junk mail and jury duty summons was an envelope that contained two lower-bowl Jazz tickets and a note that said "Happy Random Day!" Totally made my day better! My sweet friend had sent me Jazz tickets! How cool is that? And how well does she know me? Thanks random friend! :) So we went to the game on Tuesday, did anyone watch the game? It was a GOOD game!!! (speaking of, did anyone stay up for the Celtics game last night? That was awesome!)It was so fun to be there and be SO close. We were just above the tunnel to the opponents locker room. We debated a little about taking the girls since we only had two seats we knew we would be pretty cramped, but each time we talked about it I couldn't imagine going with out Ayla. She loves to watch the games with us and I just didn't want her to miss out. She had a tun of fun watching for the blimp and for the Jazz Bear! She sat great with us. Tayvie on the other hand was doing flips in our arms climbing us, climbing the seats, trying to climb the stairs. That little girl has so much spunk! We wrestled with her the whole game long! But we made it the whole game! That's a long time for a little one year old like her to be contained! But it was totally worth it, when she would clap her hands along with everyone and bounce to the music, and the great big grin on her face. She loved it! Tony and I loved it too! It was so fun to be there in person, watching them play is a million times better when you are actually there!(I just had to show you how cute they are in their little Jazz Jersies and pink camo pants!)

Lot's of Celebrating!

Saturday we started the day with a little Valentine's surprise. Ayla and I had made a cute little valentine box out of an ice cream bucket a couple days earlier. So Saturday morning I told her and Tayvie to go check their mailbox. Ayla opened it and pulled out these little heart ornaments (I bought these last year for my Young Women Personal Progress and had a few left over). Ayla was honestly stunned! She kept saying "I CAN NOT believe this!" She asked me what store I bought them at, and why I gave them to them, then she went upstairs and came back with some ribbon so they could wear them around their necks. Tayvie was pretty interested in hers too. Then we sang "Happy Birthday" to Tayvie a couple times and got in the car. Tayvie got to ride in a forward-facing carseat for the first time and you can see that she LOVED it! She was so excited, pointing to everything out the window and squealing! We drove down to Cabela's just like we did for Ayla's first birthday. It's funny cause I'm really not much of a fan of dead stuffed animals (sorry all you big tough manly hunters out there who read my blog), but we think it's fun to take them to see the fish and it's an easy way for them to see animals up close, like the bears, and they both have enjoyed it! Just look at the Tayve's face in these! She was having a BLAST!
On our way home we stopped at RC Willey's for some free hotdogs and drinks for lunch and then we went to the dollar store and bought the girls each a heart balloon, cause balloons always make things special.
When we got home Grandpa & Grandma Goddard dropped by with some yummy Valentine cookies. And then we went over to the church to decorate for the Valentine Ball that night.
Sunday we celebrated at Grandpa & Grandma Cole's house. Great Grandma Cole & Great Grandma Haun came and all the Aunts & Uncles and Cousin Litia. Tayvie had so much fun opening presents! She did good unwrapping and LOVED every single thing she got! She wanted to play with each thing and was mad when I would take it a way so she could open the next.

And on to the cake...
Monday night we had Grandpa & Grandma Goddard & Auntie Traci over for cake and icecream. Tayvie LOVED every present again! And when it came to cake time she dug right in at both parties! She was covered in pink and red like a true little Valentine!

Our Little Sweetheart Turned ONE

Over the weekend my little baby turned ONE! Tayvie is so much fun!
For the last month or so she has been taking steps on her own if you coax her but last Tuesday she just stood up and started walking... and then walked all day everywhere she wanted to go, all on her own!
She is super stubborn! She knows exactly what she wants and knows how to throw a fit so you know exactly what she wants too!
She is CRAZY- CRAZY about shoes! And socks, anything she can put on her feet. If my shoes or Tony's are sitting out, she's over there trying to put them on her feet! She has TINY feet, she can still wear a size one and twos are still big.
Another favorite is the phone. She will fight me for the phone. She holds it up to her ear and says "Hi!" She also fights me for the computer.
She likes bears and has the cutest little grawl when she sees one.
She walks around here saying "yeah?... yeah?... yeah?..." all day long.
She loves her sister. She watches what Ayla does and then does the exact same thing. She loves to tickle Ayla and play with her.
She is crazy about babies!!! She LOVES real babies, and dolls. She talks so sweet to them, and loves to give them hugs and kisses.
She will pretty much eat anything and all of it, if it's real food. She won't eat baby food but everything else... She always wants to eat, I feel like I am always giving her something to eat. And she is the messiest eater! You would think she would be a little chunk but she is only 17.5 lbs.
Tayvie is so sweet, and so cute. We just love her with all of our hearts over here!
Happy Birthday my little sweetheart!

(I will post about the weekend's celebrations soon)

Sick As A Dog & As Old As Daddy

Cassie, our dog, has been extremely sick. My heart has been breaking for her. She is just old and miserable, so we've been trying to make her comfortable and happy. We decided that we needed to take her to the vet today, so Tony took her and came back with some antibiotics for her. Ayla wanted to know why Cassie went to the doctor and why she was sick and needed medicine. I explained to her that Cassie was just old and her immediate response as if she suddenly understood was "Oh! Old like daddy?"

A Very Nice Day

Last week we picked the PERFECT day to go to the zoo!
The weather was gorgeous! We just wore light jackets. Hardly anyone was there so we had the zoo all to ourselves! The orangatangs came right up to the window and watched us for a while!
It was the perfect little outing.
This time Ayla was looking forward to seeing the elephants, she also likes the zebras, and wanted to see the lion (anyone know where the lion is if he's still there?)
Tayvie loved the bears, although she grawled at every animal! She also liked the monkeys and the giraffes.

Lazy Saturday Afternoon

The girls can't get enough of Tony lately!. They both are big daddy's girls. Tayvie cries if he walks out of the room and doesn't take her with him. Ayla is constantly begging him to play games... this week I don't know how many times he has played "Old Maid" and "Go Fish." They love having him around all the time. Right now, Tony and Ayla are looking at pictures from his mission. Ayla is totally interested in them and Tony is loving having a captive audience! Tayvie is climbing over both of them trying to be part of the party.

Basketball

(Check out that shot! Not bad eh?)

(dribble, dribble... she looks like a pro)
(This is the exact moment the ball hit her in the face... she had a pretty good little jumpshot going for her)
The weather was beautiful yesterday so we met my brother's Curtis and Austin at the park and played some basketball. I practiced passing, shooting and dribbling with Ayla. She loved it! She's such a basketball fan! She was shooting and the ball came down and hit her in the face and gave her a bloody nose. So then she was done with that and she spent the rest of the time running on all the lines on the court. It was really cute! Tayvie had a lot of fun crawling around the basketball court and trying to eat dirt and rocks. She also liked to watch the airplanes flying over and the dogs going for walks. It was a fun day.

Dance Class

Last night Ayla got to go to her cousin Litia's dance class. She was so excited but once they started dancing she just stood there and watched. So I went in the dance room and helped her see what they were doing and then she caught right on. All of the girls were about Litia's age so it was a little harder for Ayla, but she was all smiles as she was trying to do everything they were doing! She was so happy she thought it was so fun! It was so cute to watch her!

It was fun too cause the studio is run by the same lady I took dance from when I was like 7! (She probably wouldn't appreciate me advertising that as I am a terrible dancer, but that's not her fault).

Snowflake Banana

Enjoy the randomness of life!
Just teasing. I just don't know what to write about these two pictures, except that I have two silly little girls.
