Tayvie

Ayla

Let It Snow

There was a huge snow storm on Friday and we had plans to go sledding with my brothers. So we all got bundled up and ready to go. Tony pulled the 4 wheeler out and tied the sled to it for a few rides around our street. Then we went up to the golf course and did some major sledding!!! It was so fun! Ayla loved it! Tayvie was happy! Ayla and I built a little snowblob- It was supposed to be a snowman but the snow was so powdery. She was so concerned about getting him arms, and eyes and a scarf (I had to give up mine for that). I don't have pictures cause it was snowing so hard I was trying to keep my camera dry and I was kind of busy sledding too! It was a lot o'lot of fun!
We walked all across the golf course in some pretty deep snow, Ayla insisted on walking the whole time "no, I just wanna walk." She even would walk up the hills while we were sledding. So I thought both girls would be WORN-OUT. When we got home I cuddled them up on my bed thinking it would be minutes til they were out. WRONG! Tayvie was so hyper! She was hillarious! And Ayla looked tired, but once she warmed up she was up for hours.
Good times. Good times.

Speaking of Fa la la la la-ing

I have been thinking about what my girls will remember about the Christmas Season. I wonder if Ayla will remember some of the things we have done this year when she gets older.

I was thinking about my Christmas Memories.

My mom would always tell us that Santa would check under our beds to make sure they were clean. It was a good idea, but that FREAKED ME OUT! I would lay in bed all night not being able to sleep not for the anticipation of Christmas but out of fear that someone was coming into my room while I was asleep! I guess that it didn't matter that he was a jolly old man... I thought it was a little creepy.

We weren't allowed to get up until 5 am on Christmas Morning. So my brother and I would wake everyone up at 4 am and read silly stories that I had written just for the occasion (some of these are classics in the fam now, am I right?) we would stay downstairs until 5 then we would go wake up the parents... THEN it would take my dad FOR-EVER to get ready, and then to set up the old dinosaur camera that had to be hooked into two different VCR thingys and the tv. It was torture to wait for him then but it's fun to think about now, cause I'm sure most of it was just to keep us in suspense!

It would be really fun to hear about some of YOUR Christmas traditions or memories.

I'm feeling so festive right now!!! Christmas is only a WEEK away!!! Yeay!

Yeay! Zoo Lights!!!

Last night we went to Zoo Lights. How fun! It was very impressive! There were a tun of lights and a whole bunch of these animated animals.
My favorite: the mama elephant giving the baby a bath. Cute-ness!
The under the sea part had a dolphin so that was awesome for Ayla. It was really fun and really pretty. We took Grandpa & Grandma Goddard with us for some extra fun and Ayla & Tayvie both seemed to really like the lights (contrary to the looks on their faces in the picture above). It was a super cold night but I think we bundled up enough that we were all fine.
We have had a fun Christmas Season so far. We finished our Christmas shopping early this year (gasp! I'll pause while you get over your shock, I don't think that has ever happened before) and Tony is now off until the Monday after Christmas so we're hoping to squeeze in a bunch more Christmas fun! Fa la la la la!!!!

A Proud Momma

I have been so excited about this!

One day in October, I got the girls all dressed in their fall flavored attire and we headed over to Legacy House of Taylorsville. They wanted to use my girls as models for their website and pamphlets. My wonderful friend Michele Cockayne was heading up the project, she loves my girls like her own and we sure love her.

I was SO proud of Ayla! You all know Ayla and she can definately be shy around people she doesn't know, but she was AMAZING!!! Seriously!!! She was so patient and followed directions so well! The photographer probably took a couple hundred shots with her (he totally favored her above the other kids, he really liked her). It was cold and windy but she was just smiling and talking to this sweet grandpa. This grandpa was super cute too, I wish you could see his shoes he was wearing old school black converse hightop sneakers!

The photographer took a few pictures with Tayvie but we had been waiting a while so my smiliest girl wasn't so smilie at that point. She posed with a grandma and we managed to get a few smiles out of her, but I haven't seen those pictures yet.

This picture of Ayla is on their website now, here's the link:
http://legacyretire.com/index.php/taylorsville/
It's the last one in the slideshow and each photo takes like 7 seconds or so...
(I wish I could give the photographer credit but I don't have his name. sorry, I'll keep trying to get it.)

I've been so looking forward to seeing these. Ayla was so excited to see herself on their website, although she sees herself here all the time, but she remembered taking the pictures with the grandpa!
That was a really fun day! A fun little outing for us!

They Have To Be Nice & Comfy

Have I told you how Ayla loves to decorate??? See the blue string? That's one of her fancy little touches. But today she was decorating the tree with her My Little Ponies. She told me "they need to be nice and comfy and they're nice and comfy in the tree." hum. don't know 'bout that. A few days ago she asked me if we could get a new tree like bam'ma's cause this one is pokey and she doesn't like it. Poor ponies doesn't sound so comfy to me, at least they're plastic.
This Christmas Season has been so fun with Ayla this year!!! She loves everything about it! We have taken her down Christmas Street twice and last night when we did she kept saying "Mom, there's another story" when she'd see the next part of the story. Then she came home and made up a little song and dance about how mom read her a story with the christmas lights! So cute! She can't wait for Christmas, I am so excited for her too cause she will love it!

Monkey See Monkey Do... Tayvie See Tayvie Too!

I mentioned how much Tayvie loves climbing... maybe this is where she gets it from:

The other day Ayla came into my room as we're getting ready for bed and says "Mom come see what I can do!" So I followed her into her room and this is what she shows me.

So then not two seconds behind her is the Tayve watching her sis and trying the same thing!

You're both little goofs, but you Ayla Dell are the reigning Queen. :)

Ten Month Old Tayvie

Tayvie is now officially 10 months old! Look at that sweet face!So the Tayve has this toy that she pulls herself up on and it sings little boppity songs when she plays with the toys on the top. She is so AFRAID of it!!! She'll climb up and start to play but as soon as it starts to sing she runs away and sits down. It has little balls that swirl and make noise I think that's the main thing she's afraid of.
She still plays with it though- silly girl!(Her little scared face)
This is the part where I tell you (as always) what a sweet girl Tayvie-Tayve is and all the fun things she is doing!

Oooh! I love to kiss those soft little checks!

10 months is so fun! Tayvie is just full of smiles. She can be sad one minute and the next, give the happiest grin you've ever seen! She is at that fun climbing stage, and she is determined to master it! She climbs everything in sight. She pulls herself up and walks around furniture and walls, and she even stands on her own for about 20 seconds or so. She'll even walk around if she's pushing something.

Her sweet little jabbering sounds are my FAVORITE right now. 'tah, tah, tah' real soft like she's wispering, and then there's the grawling like a bear- so cute. She use to just holler "AY-YA" but now she wispers it over and over "ay-ya, ay-ya, ay-ya" while she's playing with Ayla's hair so softly like she's trying to wake her up.

She gives the best loves. I love that great big sweet smile on her face right before she cuddles in to give me the best hug ever. She likes to play with my eyelashes, she likes baby dolls, and her favorite toy is a little toy that plays piano music, she goes straight for it and dances when it sings.

At her doctor appointment the other day she weighed 16 lbs... so baby girl has got to gain 4 lbs in the next two months so she can go forward facing in her carseat!

We are so looking forward to Christmas this year, Tayvie's at such a fun stage she will love ripping the wrapping paper!
