Feelin' Crafty

I've been sewing like crazy the last couple weeks. I've been making cotton receiving blankets for all the little babies that are coming soon. I loved the cotton blankets for nursing... especially in the summer. So I also got a bee in my bonnet to sew my drapes for the front room and put up my curtain rod (that I've had for 4 1/2 years). I also have Trina's quilt up. I love having a quilt up, especially since hers is black it matches my halloween decor! As you can see Ayla loves helping me quilt! That girl loves helping me anything! Her way of helping is pulling the pins out of the side and sticking them in the dots (how funny huh?) and then bouncing the quilt while I'm trying to work on it! The first day it was up she thought it was a trampoline- but now it's just a trampoline for bupo. I've also been working on the fisherman picture (if you want to see that click the side link there), I'm going to have Tony take some pictures of how I work on that cause I do it on a folding table and Ayla is usually climbing all over me and laying on the table while I'm working on it- so funny! She has her own picture she colors with me but apparently it takes a lot of movement.

There's Nothing Better

Look at this sweet face... I'm getting so excited for another one of these sweet little faces! I've been thinking about Tayvie a lot lately, I love to feel her move and kick- that's the coolest thing ever, I miss it when I'm not pregnant. It has been the most fun ever to be Ayla's mom the last 21 months, even with the sleepless nights and the temper-tantrums, not being able to get anything done, etc... this sweet little face out weighs it all. I just love it, I love every stage more and more, and I love every second (even during the tantrums)! I am so thankful to have this little girl with me all the time, she's my little helper and my little buddy, she cracks me up constantly! She's just so fun. I love being her mom, and I'm so excited to be Tayvie's mom, and for Ayla to be a sister.
I love being a mom, there's nothing better!

Brushing Her Teeth

Ayla loves to brush her teeth, she always asks me if she can. I have a big barstool-chair in the bathroom that she sits on while she brushes 'em. She'll brush for a little bit and then she'll put her toothbrush away (don't worry I get it out and rinse it off). This day she wanted to wear her hat and her gloves, I just thought it was so funny and so cute!

Wheat Colored Hair

We went for a walk up in Park City last week along a walk way that was lined with scarecrows. Ayla loved looking at the scarecrows, she LOVES Halloween this year! She is crazy about pumpkins, and she can laugh like a witch- so cute! Park City was gorgeous with all the leaves falling, and the weather was perfect, just a slight chill in the air!

Ten Thousand Holes

I'm actually surprised that no one else has ever asked about the title of my blog... I'm sure I've told some of you in person, but Allie asked what it means giving me the perfect opportunity to explain if anyone has ever wondered. It's a Beatles refrence... well, a distorted Beatles refrence. I use to have every Beatles song ever recorded (as far as I know), but since we don't use cassett tapes anymore my i-pod is trying to catch up. Anyway, in a song that John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote it refrences four thousand holes:
I read the news today oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall

John's contributions to the song were based on what he had seen in the newspaper that day, while the rest of the song talks about getting up, getting out of bed... daily stuff. Anyone know the name of the song? Yep, A Day In The Life. So to me Ten Thousand Holes is a refrence to a day in my life, it seems like there are always ten thousand little things going on in my life, and maybe by the end of this blog I will have posted ten thousand pictures to document it.
Just a side note my first few posts were titled after Beatle songs but I wasn't clever enough to continue it.

Family Pictures

We had our family pictures taken this week here's the link if you want to see a few of them:

Simply You Photography & Design: S'more Christmas Session Goodness:

Kim took them for us, she did a great job, she spent a lot of time with us. Ayla fell asleep right before we got to the location and she was so tired... infact Kim has some pictures of her just laying on us! So we didn't get much personality from the little one unless we were doing acrobatics with her! She loved the star though!

Imagination

I just love this stage! Most of all I LOVE her imagination! The other day in the bathtub she was playing with her toys and they were talking to eachother saying "mommy," and "daddy" and other random words... I didn't know what exactly they were suposed to be doing in her head but I could tell she was make believing something!

Playing with We-wah

I've told you how much Ayla loves Rita, when she came out of her house yesterday Ayla went running to meet her "We-wah! We-wah!" So fun that she has a little neighbor friend! They had so much fun spinning in circles, rolling all over the yard, blowing dandylions, and playing with their stuffed animals!

Bupo

This is Bupo... Ayla's word for Buffalo. He does everything with Ayla. When she's eating lunch she sets him on the table on a hotpad- so funny! The hotpad was on the table one day so that's where she sat him, well the next day it was on the counter so it took me a minute but I finally figured out that she wanted Bupo to sit on the hotpad on the table while she ate! Guess she wants him to be comfortable. When she goes to bed she asks for Bupo, she shares her food and drinks with Bupo, she reads him books, he even helps her pick things up! At the doctor's office the other day it was so funny one of the nurses was putting up Halloween decorations and she dropped a few small pumpkins on the floor so Ayla went to help her pick them up and so did Bupo, she used Bupo's arms to pick them up and then Bupo handed them to the nurse! Bupo gets a lot of praise for the things he does she's always saying "yeay Bupo!" or showing me what Bupo did. But the best thing about Bupo is that if Ayla doesn't want to do something Bupo always does: 'Ayla do you want to go potty?' 'no' 'Does Bupo want to go potty?' 'YEAH!!!' Then they both go. She found this orange lid outside and thought it would make a good hat for Bupo and then she wanted his picture taken with it (can't upload the picture keeps giving me an error). While she was playing outside he rode bikes with her, and got to go for a ride on a spinning bike tire- that was fun, and then she carefully placed him on the sidewalk facing her so she could keep playing. That Bupo is a good sport!

Healthy and Happy!

We had our big ultrasound today. Ayla was so excited about it last night, I told her we were going to see the baby in mommy's tummy on the tv and she lifted up my shirt to see my belly and pointed to it and kept saying "baby." Then when she was ready to go to sleep she laid her head on my tummy and said "n-night baby" and wanted to sleep there. She was excited again this morning and kept pointing to the screen and saying baby while we were watching the ultrasound, so I think she might understand some what. We would ask her if she was having a brother or a sister and she would repeat the words "brother" and "sister" surprisingly well!

Everything looked good, the baby is healthy and happy, LOTS of grins it was so cute to see! It's so amazing, it's like watching a real baby... probably because it is a real baby! These 3D shots are kind of funky (and creepy) cause it goes in and out of the different layers so they look weird and really distorted, so don't be scared of my baby because of these pictures, Ayla's looked funky like this too and she turned out adorable! No surprises here they said she's a girl just like the doctor thought before. We're so excited for another little girl! It will be so fun for Ayla to have a sister... and we're excited that she can wear all of Ayla's clothes and use all of her blankets! How handy!!!
We probably will name her
