The Princess

Am I raising a girl or what? She was dying to wear her princess dress today! So she helped me get her dressed complete with heals and all! Then she pranced around and played princess all morning. So cute! I just had to share even though the pictures are terrible plus apparantly there are two black spots on my lens I need to clean off! Lovely! I'll try harder the next time...

The New Rooms

So here are the new rooms!
The transition has been so smooth for Ayla. She has been so excited about her new room- the butterfly room! She was so excited to get all of her stuff in there. She loves to go in and play or read books, she loves to turn the light on and shut the door. It's her own space in there and it is by invitation only... I've been denied several times! She also likes to visit "Tay-tay's room" but always refers to it as "Tay-tay's." She has no problem sleeping in her new room, she's done really well. I think it's perfect for Ayla and we're really happy about how it turn out. It's been a really good change.

This room will now be Tayvie's. I love this room, I think it's so relaxing to just sit in here. This room works really well for the nursery because of it's size and the way it's set up. I'm really happy with both rooms and it's so nice to have them both put back together!

POLL: When will Tayvie be born?

Here's the info for an educated guess:
  • Original due date February 5th

  • Current due date (by ultrasound) February 14th

  • I was induced with Ayla on my due date (she was 7lbs 4oz)

  • I haven't discussed being induced this time

  • Dr. Appointment today nothing new... everything looks good.

Any other questions??? If not leave a comment with your guess, tell me date and time... and weight if you want! I'm excited to see the guesses so let me know what YOU think, and if you don't know what you think leave a guess anyway just don't make it March or something- that might be a little discouraging! :)

I'm really excited to see your guesses!!!

Happy Birthday Ayla Dell!!!

Two years ago today at 11:45 am this beautiful little angel came into this world changing my world completely. Such an amazing wonderful change it has been. I love every minute with this little girl, even the frustraiting moments make me laugh inside to realize that I am getting to experience all of this. I can't believe it has been two years already, I think about that day daily and what an amazing day it was. Ayla has grown and changed and learned so much but she is still that same little girl that looked into our eyes two years ago. She had traits then that she still has now. She has always been strong willed, knowing exactly what she wants and determined to get it. She's growing so much, I love that she can talk to me, that we have converstations. I love her sweetness. She melts my heart everytime she says "thank you mommy." I love her hugs and kisses and high fives, I can't get enough. I love the little games she plays and her little imagination. I love her laugh and her happiness. I love every second spent with her and wouldn't trade it for the world. What a wonderful gift she is to me.

Happy Birthday Little Girl! I love you!

Purple Hat

Thanks to Aunt Gentry my girls will never want for hats! Everytime Ayla sees her she begs "Aunt GiGi" to make her a new hat. So we have lots of nice warm hats in every color for Ayla and baby Tayvie! These are my favorite she uses that crazy fuzzy yarn and the hats turn out so soft and fluffy!

The Butterfly Room

I should wait until the room is finished but I thought I'd show you now what it's looking like. I think for now it's probably going to be Ayla's room and then once Tayvie is ready for a big girl bed she'll move in the pink room too. I LOVE Ayla's current room and it's hard for me to move her out of there, but it's just too small. It will work much better as a nursery. Ayla's really excited about the butterfly room. She goes in there to check on it several times a day. Twice last week she yelled for me to help her cause she was trying to move her bed in there! Everytime we go in she explains where daddy painted where mommy painted and where Ayla painted, and points out all of the butterflies! She also goes around to each butterfly, gets real close and says "hewo bubberfy, whatta doin?"
The painting hanging on the wall is completely by Ayla... my talented little artist!

It's funny, the room is nothing like I had envisioned at all, but I like it. I think it is turning out really cute and it will be a fun room for the girls. Hopefully we can just get the finishing touches all done real soon so we can move Ayla's stuff and then we'll have room to get the baby stuff out!

Thinking...

I keep forgetting to post my doctor appointment updates.
I was just thinking about how neat it is that Ayla gets to come along and see her little sister in my tummy. It's something she's always excited about and I think it helps her understand it a little more. We talk about the baby coming out of my tummy all of the time. She shows me Tayvie's clothes and she even shows me where Tayvie's going to sleep. We don't even have the room set up yet she just points to the floor and shows me that's where Ayla's bed will go and then she'll point next to it and tell me that's where Tay-tay will go nite-nite. She loves to lay her head on my tummy so she can lay by Tay-tay, the other night Tayvie had the hiccups and Ayla was so excited to feel her moving in there and then she pretended to have the hiccups too. She also puts her face right up against my tummy and says "wahhh, wahhh" and tells me Tay-tay is crying. She already loves her baby sister!

So yesterday was our appointment (36 weeks). Everything went well. Everything looked good. Tayvie was happy and healthy. Can't ask for more than that. We were supposed to go to a snowed in cabin this weekend with my Young Women's group, but the Doctor said it was an unneccessary risk and didn't think it would be a good idea. I believe his words were: "Why the *#@^ would you do that?!?" So here I am at home, but they still needed Tony's help so he's up there havin' some fun. It's funny to think I'm getting that close, that I have to worry about stuff like that! My next appointment is Tuesday the 29th and then I only have 2 weeks from then... WOW!

Daddy Did Well!

For Christmas Tony got Ayla the Dora Candy Land game. She loves it! She wakes up in the middle of the night asking for it! It is a really good game for her to play, she knows who each piece is and whose turn it is. We pick the card and tell her the color and she puts the piece carefully on the correct color. It's so cute to watch! She doesn't do them in order if the color is red she may pick a red one clear across the board, but it doesn't matter it's a fun way to practice her colors!

ummm... the room is pink?

We finally got around to painting the new room... we don't know whose room it will be, Ayla's current room is so small it works much better as a nursery and in about a year it will be easier for the girls to share the new room... the pink room. I bought some fabric to do the bedding (whether it be crib bedding or twin bed quilts for both girls later on). The fabric was kind of an olive green with a rusty red poka dot in it, it's really cute kind of whimsical looking. I matched the paint sample to the red dot, so it was going to be a red room and then we were going to add white poka dots. Anyway, when we opened up the paint can it looked pink (as you can see), but at the store they painted on the sample and it dried the same color so we thought 'weird, but it obviously must dry to the darker red color cause it did on the sample.' No idea what happened but obviously it's pink now! It will be cute, it just won't match my fabric or the idea in my head, but I will have to post pictures when it's finished cause I'm sure it will turn out just fine!
Ayla loves to check on the room when we are upstairs... she's just as confussed about whose room it will be... her room is definately "AYA's ROOM" when you ask, but the pink room is "Tay?Aya's?" Then she'll explain and point to the walls where she painted, and where daddy painted and where mommy painted. I gave her a canvas to paint on at first and she liked it, we're going to hang it up in the room when it's finished, but then we decided she wouldn't hurt anything if she painted on the wall, and she just loved it, had a blast!!!

So Musically Inclined

This little girl loves all things music! She can't help but start to groove when she hears music. In the stores she will say 'hear it?' when he hear music and then she starts boppin'! Cracks me up! My ringtone right now is Matchbox Twenty "Let's See How Far We've Come" whenever that song comes on the radio she will ask me if I hear it and then say "Mommy's song." The other day was hillarious Tony and I were driving and the radio was down so low you really couldn't hear it, and from the back seat Ayla starts yelling "Hear it? Mommy's song!" so we turned it up and it was the first few seconds of "How Far We've Come." She is always allert and actually picks out words in random songs that are playing on the radio. She loves to play the guitar, and piano, and now we'll add the harmonica! These pictures were taken at the Goddard Christmas Party and she was just jammin' out on the harmonica! It helps that she saw Uncle Austin playing the harmonica just days before and he helped her practice! I loved that she dressed herself up all funky to go with her harmonica playing (no one else was dressed up). Funny girl!
