On St. Patrick's Day Eve we each leave a shoe by the door for the Leprachaun to fill with chocolate gold coins when he stops by in the middle of the night.
Tayvie was awake about three hours before Ayla was so she had ample time to find her shoe and the treasure inside, before Ayla woke up.
The Leprachaun had gold coins just last week but somehow misplaced them, so he left Smarties and large dollar coins this year.
She took out the spoils and went straight to putting her shoe on... when that didn't work she begged me to put it on for her.
Then she did laps happily with her shoes on. Then she returned to the candy and her sister's shoe to find out what it had in it. (Have I ever mentioned Tayvie's obsession with shoes? She is truely crazy about shoes.)
Finally, when Ayla woke up she was so excited to see if the Leprachaun had come, she ran over to her shoe and pulled out the candy and coins and was as happy as could be.
Happy St. Patrick's Day everybody!

ReplyDeleteThat is so fun! I can't wait until Emmory gets that excited! We did something similar growing up. We put our slippers out on New Years Eve and the New Years fairy came and filled them with goodies. There is something a little creepy about a Leprachaun coming into your house in the middle of the night though.... Those tricky little men!
